Meet the Faculty: Stephanie Lyden, MD

Dr. Lyden is an assistant professor in the Department's Division of Vascular Neurology. She completed her BS at the University of Wyoming before going on to complete her residency at Rush University Medical Center. Her career special interests include telemedicine, systems of care, rural medicine, and women's health.

What are your hobbies? Running, backpacking, camping, cross country biking, alpine and cross country skiing, traveling, interior designing, and listening to live music.

What is your favorite meal/dessert? Meal: Salmon or Trout. Dessert: Pumpkin Pie.

What are one or two things you want to learn to do? Salsa or contemporary dance and gardening.

What is one thing that can instantly make your day better? A smile from my son, Cameron!

What song always gets you out on the dance floor? I love dancing, so it doesn't take much. Probably 90's country for a good two-step or country swing.

What is something people would be surprised to learn about you? I studied Spanish art in Barcelona and Shakespeare in England and Italy.

Name one thing on your bucket list. Travel to Patagonia, New Zealand or Switzerland.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A fashion designer. I drew up dress designs and used nail polish to color them.

What is the best concert you’ve ever attended? Michael Franti during the first Rendezvous festival at the base of the mountain at Jackson Hole Ski Resort or Trampled by Turtles at Red Butte.

What is your favorite thing about your career? I love working with so many talented individuals to deliver excellent stroke care that can truly save a person from a life of disability.
