This award is presented to a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. The award is based on the applicant’s transcripts, biographical sketches, recommendations by their supervisory committees and manuscripts submitted by the student.
Nomination and Selection Process:
Identification of the recipient is based on the Department of Biomedical Informatics Fellowship Committee’s study of the above noted documentation.
History:
Formerly known as the John D. Morgan Award (2007-2009) and the John D. Morgan Fellowship Award (2010-2012), the John D. Morgan Ph.D. Award is presented each year to a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Informatics. The award is based on a study by the fellowship committee of the applicant’s transcripts, biographical sketches, recommendations by the applicant’s supervisory committees and manuscripts submitted by the student. The recipient of Dr. John Morgan’s award is the student whom conducted the “best” research work during their final year of studies.
