Ravi Ranjan Receives Innovative Project Award

Dr. Ravi Ranjan, MD, PhD, has received an Innovative Project Award from the American Heart Association for "Computational Modeling Guided Ablation for Atrial Arrhythimas" from 7/1/2019 to 6/30/2021.

This project will utilize patient-specific imaging like MRI to build computational models to guide future atrial arrhythmia treatment including ablations. The initial part of the grant is to develop and optimize the model, with later plans to prospectively test for validation and effectiveness. The main goal is to identify critical areas that sustain these arrhythmias and then to target them with ablation with the hope that it will significantly reduce procedure time and improve outcomes.
