The University of Utah Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of 10 academic obstetrics and gynecology departments nationwide that is funded by the National Institutes of Health as a . Through mentoring, research, and career development, the Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) program aims to increase the number of junior faculty from the University of Utah who will develop scientific careers and become principal investigators. The program achieves these goals through a and career development experience. All Utah BIRCWH scholars will be expected to enroll in the program and will be provided with at least 75% full-time protected time dedicated to their research training and research activities. This award is funded through a K12 grant.
