New Provider Hires in Gastroenterology

The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition would like to welcome Kelsey Gaid, PA-C and Dr. Sheeva Parbhu to the Divison. Kesley is joining the team as the Division's newest Physician Assistant. Dr. Parbhu, who has recently completed a fellowship at the University will be staying in Gastroenterology as an Assistant Professor. Both will be joining the team in July. Here is a little more about them:

Kelsey Gaid, PA-C

Kelsey Gaid was raised in Roswell, Georgia. After completing her Masters, she moved to the D.C. area where she practiced with a private Gastroenterology. Kelsey relocated to the Salt Lake City area 1 year ago with her boyfriend to ski and explore the outdoors.

Kelsey is one of four children who all grew up competing in a variety of sports. At the University of Georgia, Kelsey was a team captain of the Women’s Swimming and Diving Team that were 4-time SEC Champions as well as a NCAA Champions in 2013. She attended the Olympic Trials for Swimming in 2008 and 2012. She enjoys staying active, including hiking, skiing, running, and swimming.

Sheeva Parbhu, MD

Dr. Sheeva Parbhu began his education at the University of Notre Dame. He went on to complete his medical training at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Upon completion Dr. Parbhu accepted an Internal Medicine Internship with the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he also completed his Residency. He completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Utah School of Medicine, serving as a Chief Resident. Dr. Parbhu now joins the faculty at the University of Utah in the Division of Gastroenterology as an Assistant Professor.

Dr. Parbhu is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is part of several commitees at the University of Utah that strive to improve the quality of patient care. Dr. Parbhu is also a new father.
