Mortality at For-Profit Versus Not-For-Profit Hemodialysis Centers: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
In this updated meta-analysis and systematic review, we show that the mortality gap between for-profit and non-profit dialysis centers remains, accounting for an estimated 3800 excess deaths per year. As the for-profit dialysis industry continues to rapidly expand in the United States, it is critical to improve regulation and implement policy that helps FP dialysis centers achieve a higher standard of care.
