Congratulations to Dr Jihyun Song for receiving an Outstanding Abstract Award at the 16th International Congress on Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs). Her abstract, titled "NFKB1 Haplotype Decreases Inflammation and Enhances Response to Ropeginterferon Alfa-2b in Polycythemia Vera (PV) and Essential Thrombocythemia (ET)," highlights significant findings in the treatment of these conditions.
Dr. Song's research focuses on a genetic variant enriched in Andean Populations that is linked to reduced inflammation and improved response to ropeginterferon-α in MPNs. This discovery could lead to more precises treatments of PV and ET, as genotyping for the NFKB1 variant may help predict patient response to ropeginterferon-α treatment.
