The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies held the Huntsman Cancer Institute Fifth Annual Hematology Review on February 21st, 2015. Speakers included faculty from the division and invited speakers. The keynote speaker was Dr. James Armitage from the University of Nebraska. Topics included malignant and benign hematologic diseases, fungal infections in the Hematology/BMT patient (Dr. Kimberly Hanson from the Division of Infectious Diseases) and a health policy talk on coverage for molecular testing (Dr. Dane Dickson from Palmetto GBA). There were around 150 attendees (physicians, pharmacists, nurses and physician extenders) form 9 states. This yearly conference has become a true regional hematology educational event.
