Dr. Tom O'Hare Appointed as Director of the Hematology Biorepository

It is with immense pleasure that I announce the appointment of Dr. Thomas O’Hare as Director of the Hematology Biorepository. This appointment is effective as of October 1, 2020 and will be ongoing.

Dr. O’Hare joined our faculty in the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies in 2010 and has been involved in translational cancer research for nearly two decades. Dr. O’Hare’s work makes extensive use of primary specimens donated by patients and healthy volunteers. His overall focus is to apply his training in synthetic organic chemistry, mechanism-based inhibitor design and high-throughput biochemical and cellular assay engineering to identify and therapeutically target oncogenic driver enzymes in acute and chronic leukemias, and other myeloproliferative neoplasms. Please join me in congratulating Dr. O’Hare and I look forward to the many more great things to come from his leadership!
