Welcome to Kaitie Emmerling

The Division of Hematology & Hematologic Malignancies welcomes a new Physician Assistant, Kaitie Emmerling. She is very excited to be joining the Inpatient Hematology team after completing the Hematology/Oncology APC Fellowship at end of this month.

Kaitie grew up in Lakewood, Colorado (a suburb just west of Denver) and then moved out east to attend Yale University, where she majored in the History of Science and Medicine, and also played basketball. After college, she spent eight years in biomedical research studying Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease the Yale School of Medicine and varicella-zoster virus at the University of Colorado School of Medicine before deciding to go to PA school.

Shortly after graduating PA school in Tennessee, Kaitie moved to Salt Lake City to join her wife, a Utah native, and is thrilled to be in Utah and fully onboard the Utah Jazz bandwagon. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and birding.
