The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest faculty member Dr. Anna Parks who will be starting in August 2021. Dr. Parks is a native to Salt Lake City. After completing her medical degree at University of California San Franc isc o , she stayed on at UCSF to complete her resid enc y , including a year as Chief Resident. She is currently completing her hematology/oncology fellowship at UCSF as Chief Fellow. Her clinical and research interest is in the field of thrombosis, especially in the elderly. She was the recipient of a 2-year NIH-funded T32 Fellowship to study thrombosis and bleeding outcomes in older adults and was accepted into the 2020 American Society of Hematology Clinical Research Training Institute program to develop, validate and implement a novel patient-reported outcome measure for older adults on anticoagulation therapy. She is a prolific writer with over 15 peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in medical education, particularly in non-malignant hematology, having served on multiple curriculum committees at UCSF.
