The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest APRN Amanda Dailey-Hansen. Amanda is new to the division, however she is not new to the Huntsman family, as she has worked as an RN in in-patient Medical Oncology for the past 7 years after she came to Huntsman as a nursing student and discovered a hospital and patient population unlike any other. She fell in love with the patients and community we have here and cannot imagine herself ever leaving. Her passion for nursing and healthcare developed at a young age while visiting elders in nursing homes with her mother. After high school, Amanda worked as an MA in Family Medicine and Urgent care for 5 years. She then graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2014 from the University of Utah, College of Nursing with her BSN. Here, she began her work at Huntsman when she returned to the University of Utah for her Adult Gerontology Acute Care DNP in 2018. She knew that her patients needed more from her, and she also wanted more for her career in nursing. Amanda graduated May 2021 with her DNP and is very excited to be continuing her career as part of the Hematology and BMT team we have here at Huntsman Cancer Hospital. She looks forward to working in this expanded role and is excited about all of the new learning opportunities she will undoubtedly have in the years to come.
