Dr. Anna Parks is the recipient of the R03 Grant for Early Medical/Surgical Specialists’ Transition to Aging Research (GEMSSTAR) from the National Institute on Aging, which supports early-career subspecialist physician-scientists to launch careers in aging research. During this award, Dr. Parks will pursue the development and validation of a novel patient-reported outcome measure for older adults with bleeding, with the goal of developing a tool that ensures that medications and interventions are examined in line with patients’ goals and that has broad applications as a safety end-point in clinical trials, in studies of anticoagulation decision-making, and in interventions to improve older adults’ QoL.
