Infectious Disease Faculty Recognized for Humanitarian Work

Dr. Adam Spivak, MD, has been awarded the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. The Arnold P. Gold Foundation is dedicated to 'keeping healthcare human' and strives to infuse the human connection into healthcare by engaging schools, health systems, companies and clinicians. 

This national award recognizes graduating students and faculty members who demonstrate clinical excellence, outstanding compassion in the delivery of care, and shows respect for patients, their families and healthcare colleagues. 

Dr. Spivak joined the Division of Infectious Disease in 2011 after completing Infectious Disease fellowship training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. At the University of Utah, Dr. Spivak works with members of the Planelles lab, where he conducts ongoing research into the nature of HIV persistence. He also cares for HIV patients as a member of Clinic 1A staff, and attends on the inpatient Infectious Disease consult service at both the University and VA Hospitals.
