G. Paul Eleazer, MD (Geriatrics) has been appointed to serve as Associate Chair of Veteran's Affairs in the Department of Internal Medicine, effective August 1, 2017. Dr. Eleazer has been serving as the department's liaison with the VA since 2013, as the chief of internal medicine at the Wahlen Salt Lake City VA Medical Center. He has dedicated time to supporting the connections between our institutions and this appointment will support his continued efforts. Originally from South Carolina, Dr. Eleazer attended the University of South Carolina and the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his residency and served as chief medical resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. After working in private practice for a few years he returned to the University of South Carolina as faculty, eventually being promoted to the rank of professor. Dr. Eleazer has worked within the Veteran's Administration medical system since 2011. In 2013, he moved to Utah to serve as chief of internal medicine at the Wahlen Salt Lake City VA Medical Center.
