Women's World Café

Women's World Café

As we continue to strengthen our vision for a unified department culture, we would like to address gender equity across the department. To start this initiative, our leadership stressed the importance of gathering information from our female faculty. On March 14, we held a world café to solicit concerns and input.

A world café is a method for hosting group dialogue in a structured way to gain knowledge and understanding. Our Women's World Café featured focused discussions about topics that matter to female faculty and trainees. Some of the topics included mentorship, career advancement, work-life balance, culture, bias, leadership development, and other employment issues.

Thank you to all of the female faculty and trainees who were able to attend. We got some great input and are excited to move forward on this issue. Stay tuned for some of our findings and opportunities in a future post.
