New DOIM Research Seminar Series Launched

New DOIM Research Seminar Series Launched

The Department of Internal Medicine launched a new Research Seminar Series on December 5 to inform faculty and trainees of research across the department and to foster research collaborations within and beyond Internal Medicine.

Similar to the format of Grand Rounds, the series will cover the breadth of research taking place in Internal Medicine, with each seminar to showcase the research of IM faculty in an interactive and informal format. The entire continuum of research will be represented: from bench to clinical to population and implementation science.

The first seminar featured faculty from the Division of Epidemiology. Susan C. Zickmund, PhD and Sara J. Knight, PhD presented on “Qualitative Methods in Health Services Research to Inform What Matters.”

The next seminar is on January 9, 2019, from 12 to 1pm in HSEB 5100B. It will feature Tracy M. Frech, MD, MS and Rebecca S. Overbury, MD from the Division of Rheumatology. They will present on "Quantification of Disease Progression in Rheumatology Clinic."
