Founded in 1943, the Department of Internal Medicine has a rich history of providing excellent patient care, quality research, and valuable education in Utah. Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and refreshments while browsing posters teeming with historical tidbits, including a copy of the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) first-ever grant awarded in 1943 to the first department chair, Dr. Maxwell Wintrobe. This grant was renewed annually for 23 years, and its success paved the way for the department to emerge as a national leader in patient care, research and education for the next 75 years.

Guests also had the opportunity to view a presentation which highlighted successes from all the divisions over the past fiscal year. This presentation is now available to view below. Due to the file size, image quality is low; for higher quality images, please visit Slideshare and click download.

The Department of Internal Medicine would like to thank its faculty, staff, and students for a successful 75 years. We look forward to the continued success of our divisions and programs for the next 75 years and beyond.
