Kathryn Armknecht Kathryn is from Lindon, Utah. She graduated with a degree in Public Health from Brigham Young University this past April, but became interested in healthcare and health education while living in Mexico. Kathryn initially entered University to pursue vocal performance, but decided to focus her efforts more on others than herself and hasn't regretted her decision so far! |

Ary Bryan, MSW, CSW Ary earned a Bachelors of Science in Neuroscience and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Michigan where she was also an Integrated Health Scholar. She has also received a pre-doctoral fellowship in Social Work Neuroscience, and is now pursuing a doctorate in Social Work from the University of Utah. Ary has been involved in addiction research and treatment delivery since 2011, and plans to continue this work through her doctoral studies as part of the PARCKA team. |

Polly Ann Crookston Polly grew up in the Twin Cities with a wonderful two years of her childhood spent in Morocco. She moved to Utah in 1922 for school, and decided to stay because she fell in love with the mountains. She currently has a fifteen year old son and middle-aged dog. In her spare time she loves to knit. For the majority of Polly's adult life, she has worked in psych with adolescents in secure psych setting. She always thought she would stay in her chosen field but once she learned more about dialysis, the more curious she became and decided to give it a try. She enjoys positions where she can build long standing relationships with patients. In her current role, she is able to use her psych experience and is enjoying a medical environment while still being able to have personal relationships with patients. |

Kenzie Haller, RN, BSN Kenzie is from Bend, Oregon and moved to Salt Lake City in 2010 where she completed her BSN at Westminster College. She worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department at the Salt Lake VA and found a passion for helping the veteran population. In 2015, she moved to Alaska and continued her work in the Emergency Department as an RN. In 2016, Kenzie returned to Salt Lake City to pursue her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (Family Nurse Practitioner) at the University of Utah. She then applied for the Graduate Research Assistant position because she was eager to enhance her skill set and become more involved in the magical world of research. She has enjoyed her work with TORCH and has learned something new every day. In her free time, she loves to fly fish and plans most of her vacations around fly fishing destinations. |

Junior Lobju Junior was born in the Marshall Islands, but moved and grew up in Hawaii and then California. He has a love for computers and technology and wanted to work in the tech career field, which is why he decided to go to school for IT. He is easy to recognize in the hallways at work because of his service dog that comes with him to work every day. |

Elizabeth Pulsipher, MPH, MSW Elizabeth is originally from Rexburg, Idaho, but has been in Utah for the majority of the last seven years. She loves living here and being able to spend time hiking in the mountains. She studied sociology as an undergraduate at BYU, and had the privilege to work with faculty on several of their research studies. She received valuable mentorship for her own projects, including a program evaluation in the Philippines for a non-profit organization working to alleviate malnutrition. Her past research experiences, paired with her time as a first-year graduate student working for the Social Research Institute on the U's campus, helped her qualify for her current position. She is thrilled to be here and excited to continue learning from the incredible people on her team. |

Amira Yaem Trevino A native to the Pacific Northwest, Amira was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington, where she attended Clark Community College and Washington State University. After earning a Bachelors in Psychology in 2014, Amira spent time working directly with the community in varying positions, such as a GEAR UP mentor for at-risk youth at a local high school, a Sexual Assault Victims' Advocate for survivors at the YWCA, and a Family Support Specialist for low-income children and their families at a community mental health center. Interwoven with her human services experience, Amira has supported several research projects with topics ranging from diversity among faculty to emotion regulation and health behaviors. Amira is currently a doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology Program at the U, where she supports research focused on providing instructors tools to aid difficult conversations with youth and advancing social justice and advocacy within Counseling Psychology courses. Her own research focuses on exploring conversations around culture and cultural identities in the therapeutic space. In her spare time, she enjoys daydreaming, going on scenic drives, and spending time with loved ones. |

Sofia Vallejo Sofia is originally from Santiago, Chile. She has a Bachelors in Psychology and a minor in Nutrition, and is very passionate about health. She has always been interested in finding new ways to prevent and treat chronic disease, and hopes to make a difference by being a part of the Cardiovascular Research team at the University of Utah. In her free time, she spends time with her two dogs and her husband; they enjoy going on walks or going to the dog park together. She also likes to run and is currently preparing for a half marathon in June. She recently became certified as a personal trainer, and enjoys helping clients, friends, and family achieve their fitness goals. |
