Dr. T. Jarted Bunch, MD, is a native of Logan, Utah. He graduated from the of Utah School of Medicine, and completed his residency and fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and electrophysiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After fellowship, he joined the cardiovascular team at Intermountain Heart Institute and directed heart rhythm research. He served as the medical director of heart rhythm services for Intermountain Healthcare. Dr. Bunch specializes in the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders.

He and his wife Jenny have 6 children and a small farm. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his children, running along mountain trails, and college athletics.

James Craven, MD, MS

Dr. Craven was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, and went to medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons. There he met his now-fiancé and they were both matched at the University of Utah for residency. As with seemingly everyone who transplants to Utah, Dr. Craven loves it here in Utah and decided to stay through fellowship and beyond.

Katie L. Kaput, DO

Dr. Kaput was born and raised in a rural community in southern Michigan. She earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from The University of Georgia and was employed at the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center in Athens, Georgia before attending medical school. She received her medical degree at Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine in East Lansing, Michigan and later completed her residency at National Jewish Health/Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado. With a desire to continue to receive superb training and explore her personal hobbies in the mountain west, she then completed Endocrinology Fellowship Training at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her career goal is to provide high quality, personalized, endocrine care with an emphasis on preventative health and management of chronic illnesses.

Sagar S. Patel, MD

Hematology - Huntsman Cancer Institute, Blood and Marrow Transplant Program 

Dr. Patel completed his undergraduate, medical school, and Internal Medicine residency training at the University of Minnesota. He then went on to complete his Hematology and Medical Oncology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic followed by an additional fellowship in Blood and Marrow Transplantation/Experimental Hematology. His professional interests include allogeneic transplantation, cellular therapies, and management of complications such as graft-versus-host disease and disease relapse.

Dr. Patel enjoys traveling, hiking, photography, and the ideally the combination of all three!

Dr. Shah grew up in India and moved to United States in 2002. He completed his undergraduate training at University of Michigan in Biomedical Engineering. He finished his residency at Indiana University and fellowship in Hem/Onc at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He is a huge fan of the Michigan Wolverines!

Tristan T. Timbrook, PharmD, MBA

Dr. Timbrook is from Louisville, KY. He received his PharmD and MBA from Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky. He completed his PGY-1 Residency and PGY-2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina. He then went on to complete an Infectious Diseases Outcomes Fellowship in Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Providence, Rhode Island. His clinical research interests include integrations of rapid diagnostics and antimicrobial stewardship, comparative effectiveness research, and medical informatics with particular interest given to clinical decision support systems and machine learning.

When not working, he enjoys backpacking and puzzles.

Krystal is from New Jersey, but moved to Utah when she was six years old. She is currently working on her bachelor’s degree in business that will assist in her financial skills and attention to detail. Krystal enjoys going to the aquarium and seeing the jellyfishes, which are her favorite aquatic creature.

Nicole is a recent graduate from the University of Utah, having recieved her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in adult gerontology and family practice. She has nice years of experience in a variety of nursing positions, including: Alzheimer's care, skilled nursing care, rehabilitation, leadership, quality improvement and more. Despite a sundry list of experiences, Nicole has always wanted to care for patients living with diabetes. She loves to look at care holistically, enabling patients to live their best lives.

Krystal grew up in Salt Lake and it has become a home for her. She comes from a big family with a lot of brothers; this allowed her to develop passions in the outdoors and with sports. In particular, she enjoys camping and basketball. She is proud to be a new member of this health care team!

Alec Welch

Alec is a Study Coordinator in Nephrology research in the School of Medicine. He is a recent University of Utah graduate and received his bachelors of science in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience. While at the University of Utah, he worked under various professors and staff members in their research labs focusing on cognitive perception. Alec has spent the last 5 years working in mental and behavioral health, most recently over at UNI. He is currently applying to a PhD program here at the University and hopes to continue the progress of research in mental and behavioral health.

In his free time, Alec enjoys skiing, rock climbing, canyoneering, and Jeeping down in Moab.
