Introducing: "From the Desk Of" Staff Highlight


From the Desk Of...

Each month, one staff member from the Department of Internal Medicine will be highlighted in a new staff recognition program called "From the Desk Of..." We are fortunate to have such talented staff members, and we want the rest of the department to get to know "the face behind the email."

January's lucky staff member is Julie Neuberger from the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes:

1. How do you prefer to start your day? "With coffee!"

2. What was your first job? "Arctic Circle."

3. What's a typical day at work like? "I schedule patients, organize the Diabetes One Day Program, work on RedCap, IRB and I/O's, and also some marketing."

4. What's the best part of your job? "The best part of my job is explaining to providers and patients about how amazing the Diabetes One Day Program is, and how much it has improved the lives of participants."

5. What book are you reading right now? "The Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks

6. What is your favorite podcast and why? "I enjoy Oprah's SuperSoul Conversations podcast. It leaves me feeling happy and reflecting on what is important in life."

7. If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in one thing, what would it be? "Finance."

8. What's your super power at work and at home? "I have an abundance of energy! I'm also very good at talking to people."

9. If you could have only three apps on your smartphone, what would they be? "Spotify, Instagram and Maps." 

10. What is your favorite way to decompress after work? "Pilates, biclying or golf!"

11. Do you collect anything? If so, describe. "I collect matches. If I go to a nice restaurant, I like to collect matches to remind me of where I have been."

12. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? "Sushi."

12. Who would you want to play you in a movie about your life? "Scarlett Johansson!"
