Brian L. McClune, DO
Associate Professor
Hematology - Huntsman Cancer Insitute/University of Utah

Dr. McClune was born and raised in Kansas, completing his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Medicine there. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and then went on to a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Tennessee where he received specialized training in hematopoietic cell transplantation. Dr. McClune then matriculated to the University of Minnesota where he specialized in stem cell transplantation and treatment of myeloma/plasma cell disorders, was a clinical trialist over a course of 12 years and also directed the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship program.

Before coming to the University of Utah, he attended at the University of Kansas Medical Center. His research interests are in cellular therapies and transplantation for hematologic malignancies and abrogating toxicities associated with them. He remains with a special interest in plasma cell disorders treatment.

Heliosa Prado Soares, MD, PhD
Assistant Professor
Oncology - Huntsman Cancer Institute/University of Utah

Dr. Heloisa Soares is a medical oncologist with a focus in GI cancers and neuroendocrine tumors. She is an assistant professor at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at University of Utah. Dr. Soares received her medical degree at Faculdade de Medicine do ABC in Brazil, where she was born. She completed her residency training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida and her hematology-oncology fellowship training and PhD in molecular biology at UCLA. Dr. Soares has neuroendocrine tumors and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) cancers as the major focus of her research and clinical activities. She serves as the co-physician leader in the GI Clinical Trials Research Group at HCI. In 2019, she was elected as a member of the board of directors for The North American Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (NANETS), where she is also a member of the guidelines and communications committees. McKenna Logan
Admin Program Coordinator

McKenna Logan has been with the University of Utah Hospital for three years with the pulmonary outpatient clinic department. She is happy to join the Cardiovascular Division as an administrative program coordinator with the outreach and fellowship program.

She loves to spend any time outside of work with family, hiking or canyoneering, or camping up in the mountains. She recently got married just under a year ago. She moved here from Oregon a few years ago and has been learning to love her new home.

Originally from Mexico City, Adrianna moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 2012. She completed a Master's degree in Studies in Clinical Investigation in 2015 at the University of Utah. In August 2019 she graduated with a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Utah Physician Assistant Program.

In her time away from work she enjoys skiing, swimming, spending time with her family and reading.

Brooke Tate
Study Coordinator
Gastroenterology

Brooke was born in South Jordan, Utah. She received her Bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University in special education and taught special education for two years. Brooke is currently in graduate school at the University of Utah working towards her Master's degree in public health. She is excited to be working as a study coordinator in the division of gastroenterology.

In her free time, she loves traveling, being outside, and hanging out with family and friends.

Shaylee has over six years of experience at the University of Utah. Recently, Shaylee worked as an Account Specialist for the Biomedical Informatics department. Shaylee processed the department reimbursements, payments, and deposits. In addition to her professional experience at the University of Utah, Shaylee graduated from the University of Utah in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Gender Studies. Currently, she is working on a Master’s degree in Public policy focused on education policies.

Gary S. Webster

Gary was born in Houston, TX, and while he doesn't remember living there, he still claims himself as a true Texan. His family moved to Utah a year after he was born, and he grew up in Salt Lake. He has been blessed to have traveled and lived in many parts of the world for various lengths of time, but he will always consider Utah as home. He recieved a gradute degree in Healthcare Adminstration and has worked at Intermountain, University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital and now the Division of Infectious Diseases. He enjoys the people in his department and division.

Gary has enjoyed many hobbies due to the great outdoors here in Utah, but especially loves mountaineering. He has a goal to hike the tallest peak in every state in the US. To date, Gary has summited 22/50 peaks.
