Dr. Line Kemeyou Appointed Assistant Dean, Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

The Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Cardiovascular Medicine are pleased to announce the appointment of , as Assistant Dean for the Office for Health Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion in the School of Medicine at University of Utah Health, effective October 1, 2020. In this leadership role, Dr. Kemeyou will support Associate Dean, on all SOM Office of Health Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion programs with specific responsibilities for faculty and trainees who come from diverse or underserved backgrounds by working to increase career opportunities for our faculty and to create pathways for trainees who seek academic positions to achieve their goals. This, in turn, will benefit our medical students as they embrace greater diversity in their education. As Assistant Dean, she hopes to help strengthen diversity and inclusion, through measures to assure retention of minority faculty, diversity recruitment efforts of students and residents, and promoting a climate of inclusiveness throughout the universityDr. Kemeyou is an Assistant Professor of Medicine with a focus on Heart Failure & Transplant Cardiology. Dr. Kemeyou received her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She then completed her training in Internal Medicine and in Cardiovascular Diseases at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and the University of Florida, respectively. She continued her training with an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation Fellowship at the University of Utah. Her clinical interests include improvement in health care delivery, and care of patients with severe congestive heart failure including the use of mechanical circulatory support devices and cardiac transplantation.Please join us in congratulating Dr. Kemeyou on her new position with the School of Medicine.
