Dr. Aylin Rodan Joins the Research Advisory Panel (RAP)

Dr. Aylin Rodan Appointed as new RAP member

The Department of Internal Medicine (DOIM) wishes to announce a change in its Research Advisory Panel (RAP) membership. 

Effective June 30, 2024, Dr. Robert Paine has stepped down from his role of RAP member. Dr. Paine has been an original member of the RAP from its inception, and we would like to thank him for his many years of service.

Dr. Aylin Rodan was nominated and has graciously accepted the invitation to become a RAP member.  Dr. Rodan has also recently been appointed as the new Chief of the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension.  Dr. Rodan is a physician-scientist with an interest in hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and the underlying epithelial ion transport mechanisms in the kidney driving these clinical syndromes.  She also serves as an attending physician at the George E. Wahlen Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Current RAP membership includes the Vice Chair for Research (Dr. Alfred Cheung​), an administrator (Scott Low), and 5 additional members:

The RAP was established in 2018 with the mission to develop strategy, establish policy, and provide research guidance and advice to the Department Chair.
