Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine combines excellence in teaching, research, and clinical expertise to train tomorrow's physicians for the rapidly changing world of medicine. With over 1,000 physicians and researchers, and 23 science departments, we are able to offer:
- MD degrees
- physician assistant training
- residencies
- fellowship specialty training
- degrees in public health
- degrees in medical laboratory science
We are widely recognized for interdisciplinary research in the genetics of disease, cancer, biomedical informatics, infectious diseases, and other areas of leading-edge medicine.

The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine at the University of Utah serves all people and communities of Utah and the Mountain West by intentionally working to improve individual and community health outcomes and quality of life. This is achieved through excellence in patient care, education, and research by:
- Purposefully educating physicians, scientists, and health care professionals to ensure compassionate, patient-centered care for all.
- Serving rural and underserved communities by addressing social determinants of health to decrease health disparities among all people.
- Engaging in scholarly research to advance knowledge, innovation, well-being, and health for all people.
- Fostering a culture of respect and community for students, trainees, staff, faculty, and community partners.

The Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine Alumni Association Fund supports medical student programming, scholarships, and alumni outreach. With this money, we have helped fund:
- Start up costs for Student Emergency Fund and Wellness Program
Housing costs for RUTTE students
Speakers for CME and other training
Other special requests from the Dean's office.
